I don't have a mousepad at all, it's a laser mouse so it works on any surface.

well deppends on the surface, my mousepad is a hard surface mousepad which makes it very very easy to move the mouse, you can feel barely some friction.

it is a playmat

also xP yeah I'm planning to buy a new monitor soon.
that one is like 5 years old or more.
