Howdy folks,
Anyone ever taken a look at mshearts from xp? It may be the same one from earlier versions of Windows, I can't quite recall. Anyhow, I was poking around a little bit, and it sure looks like that darned game cheats! As far as I can tell, it makes some "adjustments" after you pass your three cards. For example, the queen of spades will jump from North's hand to yours when you were passing left. Anyone else noticed such things?
Cheers,

| I'm sure there are numerous games that DO cheat, though - like the Warcraft series after Warcraft 2 ... the computer cheats like crazy because it clearly builds up it's forces faster than is possible .. presumably that's the only way they could think of to make the "harder" settings any harder or whatever.

Yeah, you're right.
I was forcing the game to draw cards face up by fooling with its calls to the cards.dll functions and I didn't realize that the behavior for the case where the draw function is told to draw a card back but still given a valid card id is undefined. It draws the cards face up, but they're the wrong cards. After I noticed the issue and adjusted, the jumping queen disappeared.
But it's still a good excuse for losing!
