OP has a wrong idea. This man is happy the way he is because he doesn't know any better. It's the same concept as us people looking at multi-millionaires and wishing we were just as rich as them.

Also, the last thing he wants is that people look at him as a handicapped person. He, like many other people, wants to be approached like a normal human being. Sure, it's inevitable to actually see and treat him as a normal person but you should still try.

It isn't supposed to make you sad. It's more of a motivational thing to make you feel good about yourself. And as for the swimming thing, like a dolphin?
