I want to be jacked, Girls love that do they not?
I was thinking a all protien shake diet.
Breakfast : Protein Shake
Snack : Veg/Fruit With Water
Lunch : Skip
Snack : Veg/Fruit With Water
Supper : Protein Shake
Then starve untill the next morning, Rinse and repeat.
You think this diet would be pretty effective, and bulk me up?

I performed a simple google about how many calories a grown male person has to eat(minimum).
| WikiAnswers wrote: | A grown man requires about 1000 calories a day just to keep his heart beating and blood circulating. He requires another 1000 calories for simple movement during a day - walking, etc. So I think it is safe to say that if a sedentary man consumes less than 2000 calories per day, he will lose weight.
I eat about 1500 calories a day when I am losing weight. It's easier than you think. I start with a bowl of cereal, or a glass of instant breakfast, or a fiber one bar. Each has about 200 calories. For lunch, I often eat out, but try and keep the calories under 500. Three Taco Bell fresco tacos are 450, a grilled chicken sandwich with no mayo is 300, etc.
For dinner, I eat a bit more, but still keep the calories under , say 700.
Also be sure to stay hydrated. If you aren't a water person, drink unsweet tea or crystal Light. |

IF he follows my post and just does his daily routine(which hopefully involves more than sitting in front of his computer) then he will lose weight.

don't skip lunch or starve yourself. Your body will go into hibernation and as soon as you eat something fat your body will not burn it but store it instead ultimately making you gain weight
Just try to cut down a little on the extra snacks and spread what you do eat more evenly over the day so your digestive track keeps active making you lose more energy

It depends, are you fat or skinny?
If you're fat, then you should diet. If you're skinny, then you want to eat a lot and work out.

You should never skip ANY meals; all that will do is cause your body to slow down its metabolism. Remember, the reasons why most diets do not work long-term are because they are not lifestyle changes, so when a person reverts to his/her normal eating habits, he/she will regain the weight that was lost. Even if you start working out, you should still eat frequently throughout the day, a small meal or snack every 2-3 hours is good to help keep your digestive system working more throughout the day.
Another important point that deserved a whole paragraph to itself is to obtain a workout buddy who will you will help and who you will be helped by. This is a very important aspect of losing weight and dieting because without a person who will tell you, "Hey ____, lets go run/workout today, meet you there at ____." you may start to fail your diet later in the future. Part of this point is to make sure you tell someone about your plan to get 'jacked and buff' because if you don't there is an even higher chance that you will abandon your diet and you will not be able to achieve your goal. If you do not tell someone about your plan, you may start to say, "This is becoming too hard, I have other things to do anyways, like visit CEF or play WoW." and just use the fact that you did not tell anybody as a mental excuse for abandoning your plan.
Make sure you set small goals at first that you expect that you will be able to achieve in a very small amount of time instead of one huge goal that may look impossible after a while because your enthusiasm as worm off. If you set a huge goal at first and start working out, you will most definitely ruin your chances of achieving a 'buff' body because after a few weeks you will see almost no progress to your goal, and decide that you will never be able to achieve it. The way to counteract this huge morale obstacle is to set small goals such as being able to lift more weights, or lose 1-2 pounds. After a while, and you seeing that you have achieved these small goals, you will continue to remain enthusiastic about your workouts. As long as you remain enthusiastic about your workouts, you will be able to achieve a 'buff' body, provided you followed the other points.
Also, you should either aim for losing weight or bulking up first, your body cannot perform both tasks at maximum efficiency. You should concentrate on losing fat first based off your previous pictures until you get below 10% body fat. You should also remember that you need to eat other fruits and vegetables in large enough amounts to fulfill your daily vitamin and mineral requirements.
"Carbs should come mainly from complex slow releasing sources such as oatmeal, grits, brown rice, and sweet potatoes, in combination with fibrous sources such as green beans and broccoli. Proteins should come mainly from chicken, turkey, tuna, turkey, salmon, and lean red meats. Since you are focused on reducing body fat, dairy products and fruits need to be eliminated at this time, not because they are not healthy but due to the fact that the type of simple carbs contained in these foods may slow down fat loss. Finally, you need some fats and these should come on the form of fish oils, flaxseed oil or extra virgin canned olive oil. As far as the amounts of nutrients required to lose fat, a good starting point is 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight, 1 gram of carbs per pound of bodyweight, and 3 tablespoons of good fats per day for men and 1.5 for women."
tl&dr: Get your carbs from food that is not just sugar, and instead get it from grains and vegetables. Protein should come from poultry, fish, and meat that has been cut so there is little fat remaining. You should get your fat from fish, flaxseed oil, and extra virgin canned olive oil.
"Weight Training and Cardio
Weight training wise, 4-5 sessions of 45 minutes to 1 hour, at the most, in the gym should get the job done. A good strategy to avoid stagnation is to periodize, which in other words is to change your workout parameters like sets, reps and rest in between sets in a logical and orderly fashion that elicits the most response for the body. So for instance you can do 4 weeks of training using higher reps, such as 12-15, and short periods of rest in between sets, like 60 seconds, and then follow that with 4 weeks of lower rep work (in the range of 8-10) with longer rest in between sets 90 seconds to 2 minutes (Please check out my Advanced Bodybuilding Periodized Routine). As far as cardiovascular exercise, around 5-6 sessions of 30-45 minutes when trying to cut down to below 10% body fat and around 2-3 sessions of 20-30 minutes when trying to add mass should suffice. Now, if you are a hardgainer, which in other words is a naturally skinny person that has problems gaining weight, then no cardio is recommended and also a higher amount of carbohydrates and fats is also advised."
tl&dr: You should work out 4-5 times a week for 45 minutes to 1 hour in the gym, and remember to diversify your workouts so that your body does not grow too used to one exercise. Run for 30-45 minutes 5-6 times a week to lose fat until you have below 10% fat, and 2-3 times a week for 20-30 minutes when you are finished dieting and wish to start gaining muscle instead of toning it.
Conclusion: Eat regularly without starving yourself while making sure to supplement your vitamins with vegetables and fruits, workout while alternating your workouts to prevent your body from growing too used to one workout, and run.

that's a horrible diet.
it's hard to do get big muscles while not gain much fat. you have to watch every single calorie intake and what type of food that calorie is coming from.
if you really want attempt a clean bulk, then i suggest a 50:50:20 diet. it's a ratio of protein to carbs to fat in that order.
even if you do a clean bulk, you won't look "jacked" because your body fat % is still roughly the same. so before i give you any suggestions on whether to bulk or cut, i must see a picture or stats.
also, i would like to know what you do in a gym, but based on your diet im guessing your workout routine is horrible too.

Blah blah, a lot of blah blah here.
This diet isn't good, true, but this is a typical 3-day diet (max 7 days).
A lot of supplements you miss, look at the food pyramid... but it will lose some weight in some days, but I personally recommend to not do this longer than 3 days.

You would only lose 500cals a day so it would take a week to lose 1lb.
But if you add working out with that 1500cal diet you body will start to go to starvation mode(assuming your a growing kid/teen) and then when you eat again you'll get fatter.

It will make you gain fat and lose muscle, and kill you slowly, if that's what you're looking for.
If you skip meals or starve yourself you're just going to slow down your metabolism and gain weight in the end, and lose muscle while you're at it.
Eat better food (no processed garbage or fast food) and drink only water, do lots of cardio. Fish like tuna and salmon are low calorie and high in protein. Eat several small meals a day (this keeps your body from stashing away energy as fat if you go a long time between meals.)
