It's sata II, and has Windows XP on it. I was wondering, would it be possible for me to plug the hard drive into my newer computer, download all the drivers for my components onto that hard drive, make it work, and then later be able to choose if I want to boot up that hard drive or my normal hard drive? Essentially, having two computers in one?

Yeah, backwards compatible to do what? I'm not trying to raid the drives.

Yeah, backwards compatible to do what? I'm not trying to raid the drives. | Exactly. They are backwards compatible so, you shouldn't have an issue using it as a second boot drive, or whatever it is you want.

If I just turn the computer off, pop in the drive, and turn it back on, will it do what I want? Do I have to set something or another?
