I don't get how they are supposed to keep Windows 7 + the games the I play on a 4GB SSD. Sounds pretty good in theory, but I don't think it will work as well as advertised.

I wonder why they invested into these 'hybrid drives' though. Within 5 years these things will be obsolete when SSDs will be have large spaces at affordable prices.

IF i remember my shit right.
the XT drives uses the 4gb NAND as a cache only, so it would be a 300,500gb hard drive with the performance of a 10k rpm drive like the velo.
I believe that the hybrid drive are for poorfags, people that need a fast accessable drive without breaking the bank or buying a fucking SAS controller and run some SAS drives, SSD is just too damn expensive today, tomorrow, and years later.

Not like i care about hybrid drives anyway, real man run SSD and SAS.
Is like comparing point and shot camera to DSLR

I would buy one to test out. It's a pretty clever idea, giving a normal 7200 rpm drive a giant, solid-state cache.

And perform better than 10k RPM velo drives, cheaper than buying SAS controllers.

it won't happen, cache size will not be getting bigger on mechanical drivers.

the drive needs time to flush the cache to disk should there be a loss of power. the bigger the cache the harder this is.

I'd rather have a regular terabyte hard drive.

That's because you don't know anything about computers and you're simply posting here for postcount.

Out. Get there.
