Lol O_O PHP uses HTML a lot. When you see PHP code that looks like HTML, it's because it literally is HTML, just being used inside of PHP code(for formatting). HTML = plain and simple, what you write is what you get(not that it's actually simple. I hate HTML, personally.) PHP = can do loops, if's, make functions, call those functions among others, and probably most importantly, maintain a database. HTML might as well be a really fucked up PRINTF() function for web programming languages(and 100% static websites)

You take me so seriously. I post with the idea in my head that no one will take me seriously other than the people I actually give advice to(usually in programming). If you've actually been serious this whole time: I don't care that much about grammar online - I use capital letters when proper usually, sometimes when it's completely improper, never take the time to make sure my "it's" and "its" are correct, use hyphens and commas for the purpose of giving the momentary 'pause' to the reader, and almost never for grammatical correctness unless it just happens by default from having typed a lot of essays in my life.

If you're talking about me, you are generally correct(though, 3 years not 4). Hadn't programmed for 2-3 years until a few months ago. Though now I'm in university learning a lot of theory, which is nice. But yep, anywhere I've gained in ability I've mostly lost in other ability.

The number of languages you know says nothing about what kind of programmer you are. Also, HTML isn't a programming language.

I wasn't saying anything of the sort  Slug's post was talking about me only knowing delphi(which was just a joke), so I responded with something similarly joke-ish.
Didn't mean to sound like I was bragging Was just listing them off. Similarly, if I had felt in the 'OMG I DON'T WANT TO LOSE E-REP' mood, I would've said what you said to Monkeys, as whoever that is seems to be assuming that just because I've only picked up two new languages, I must've not developed at all in the old ones.
EDIT:
Why isn't HTML considered a programming language? o_O Because it doesn't produce dynamic results? Or because it's interpreted by browsers, similar to how you wouldn't consider XML or SQL a programming language because it's just data that is then interpreted.
My guess is on the second theory. The reason I've always considered it a programming language is because it has a specific syntax, and has(generally) only one way of being interpreted. Of course it can be interpreted differently, but essentially so can binary, making all 'programming languages' essentially just data to be interpreted, making none of them programming languages.
So nevermind on feeling correct about my theory - why do you say it isn't considered a programming language? o_o
