Trouble is, I've never seen a monitor that didn't need an adapter to plug into such a port. Sort of inconvenient for normal people.

Also, If I had that many screens, my mouse would get lost.

Its called display port and its not as common as hdmi or dvi right now. These are actually mini display ports.

WHY 12?

I know. The cheapest adapters cost 15 dollars. If they're going to use 3 slots, they may as well put in 6 DVIs, 12 mini display ports are next to useless.

Just because you find it useless to have 12 screens, does not mean there is no use at all.

People do stock markets, will benefit with 12 screens or more.

I'm not saying 12 screens are useless, I'm just saying that gathering the parts necessary to hook up 12 screens would take a great deal of time and money.

If it takes a great deal of time and money and it will benefit them in the long run, then it's worth the hassle.

Is 4gb even enough ram for 12 screens? 1gb is just enough for one of a 1080p res.

12 mini displayport connectors, and yet not a single HDMI connector, so all those outputs and you still can't connect anything to it without a clusterfuck of adapters.

1920 * 1080 = 2,073,600 pixels
2,073,600 pixels, assuming 4 bytes a pixel (32 bit color) = 8,294,400 bytes.
8,294,400 bytes / 1024 = 8100 kilobytes
8100 kilobytes / 1024 = 7.91015625 megabytes

refresh @ 60hz = 16.6666667ms a frame.
that means your gpu is filling 124,416,000 pixels a second with zero overdraw.
and it needs 474.609375 mb/s worth of bandwidth

refresh @ 120hz = 8.33333333ms a frame.
filling 248,832,000 pixels a second with zero overdraw.
949.21875 mb/s worth of bandwidth

so (this is all best case scenario shit, but...)
7.91015625 * 12 = 94.921875 mb.
and with everything @ 1920*1080*60hz... that's 1,492,992,000 pixels a second worth of fillrate, best case.
5,695.3125 mb/s worth of data is getting pushed around.

so yes, assuming a bit more overhead for other shit in video ram just in windows (which isn't a lot, probably not much more than 100mb), 12 screens isn't nearly as bad as you think memory wise.
