I say the mayans are still alive and have developed the technology to make the sun burst like so. The mayans want to kill everyone in the world but the only thing keeping them from doing so is electricity. As soon as the electricity all over the world is out the mayans will overtake the world and make us all slaves and slowly kill all of us off. This is what is going to happen December 21, 2012. WE MUST PREPARE!

On a serious note, nothing is going to happen at all, theres no actual way anyone could be sure of it.

I think no one on this earth, even NASA, can predict the future to a T. The chances of any sort of doomsday coming up during our lifetime is very unlikely.

Well, NASA probably doesn't wanna scare us? I'm actually kind've looking forward to it, if it's only gonna knock electricity out for like a day or so... But the last solar flare it knocked out electricity for a week, so wut.
