Well, let me tell you what I think: the discussion in here will probably end up between the rocket scientists and the dumbfucks, the rocket scientists throwing up all their wiki'd knowledge about the lifespan of the sun, solar flares, mass, energy, etc. The dumbfucks will probably be seeing a similarity between that stupid ass maya '12 story and the predicted date of that solar flare you're speaking of.

Well, to start, I'd very much appreciate the source you got this allegation (topic) from.

And earlier this year they've revised that it was going to happen around May of 2013.

2012 - 2013 is the suns 12th or 24 cycle (too lazy to go back and check which)

Sorry, but can someone explain to me what that means? I know what a solar flare is but what effect does it have on us?

Come to think of it, I do remember hearing about this a while ago, and didn't NASA say that it wouldn't do much damage except temporarily disrupting cell phone networks?

Solar Flare is pretty much a "sun fart". With that being said, it's so strong it'll burn through the strongest of metals. If you're exposed to the outside when the solar flare is in effect, you'll pretty much burn to death.

It's going to destroy every satellite and all that technological shit, so we're pretty much going to be "knocked back" 100 years into the past.
