Fiber + usenet is awesome win. A constant download speed of 5MB per second, over a secure socket layer (so they can't monitor what I'm downloading, only the amount).

How does usenet work? Does it take from bandwidth from your provider?

It was originally setup as a news server, where people could post messages accompanied with files. It's basically a network of usenet servers which synchronize with one another so all files are the same for everyone, even if they are connected to a different usenet provider. It broadened it's usage to filesharing for some reason, and since recently it also allows you to connect over SSL, so your downloads are secure.

The speed always is, and always will be depending on your ISP. If you have an internet connection which offers 20Mbit down, 2Mbit up, but the usenet provider offers a 50Mbit download, then your maximum download speed will still be 20Mbit.
