Did you get the Nokia N900? Is it the only Maeomo OS phone?
I used Linux once upon a time ago for a few days. Wasn't too bad of an OS. Preferred Windows though.
VLC
Firefox
Opera
Open Office
Wine

| Pidgin has a linux version. I'm not sure how it would work on your cellphone though. I assume it would use your data plan as if it was on a normal pc. Gotta have a messenger on your phone.

Installed; It worked .
Also, how it works? Imagine it as a mini computer or something like a palmtop that's running on a mobile linux OS. So, yeah your assumption is correct.
I guess I'm done for now. I'll just google some more since cef has nothing else to offer judging from the popularity of this thread >_>

I have no data plan. I'm usually in a wifi zone so it uses WiFi. When 3g mode I think it drains my credits but I don't do that.

I get unlimited for 25 bucks a month and boy do I use it. Everything from google maps to msn. Sky is the limit for me. I have a HTC with wm 6.5, so plenty of apps for me too.

My service provider is Globe; I think it's a local brand. It's commonly used in our country.
Hmm; Getting a data plan has never crossed my mind as I've always been in a wifi zone. Now that I think about it. Using it while in a bus without wifi sounds useful. I'll be sure to get one sometime this week. Thanks.

| Yea, just be sure they aren't over charging for it. I only pay 25 bucks for mine from T-Mobile here in america. The usual cost is usually about that.

They charge 1200php which is:
1200 Philippine pesos = 26.3568 U.S. dollars
D: But that's only data plan internet. No unlimited calls or anything D:.

| Yea I have a family plan with my aunt. 1500 minutes, no out of country. My unlimited data with unlimited texting. all for 120 bucks. GL with that. I'd also check to see if google apps have compatibility with the phone. If it can run java it probably does. All phones have java. I think its like a law of nature for them.

There's a 3rd party passive plugin for maemo that basically allows me to use Java. So yeah I guess I can use them.
