|
|
Hi, well in my situation yet I am wondering if I should upgrade or wait.
I am working between 10-20 hours a week and I earn 10$ per hours.
I got an old ass computer simple core bogh in january 2006 befor the dual core become availlable in canada.
Mother Board: PC-Chips P25G 2.8Ghz
Ram: Two Bars of 1GB each Total of 2GB of ram
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9600 serie 256MB of ram 128Bit.
Power-supply: 380Watt Heavy Duty (Discontinued) Support up to 550Watt.
Hard Drive: 230GB
I am wondering if I should wait to buy a Quad core in a year's or take 300$ change the following parts.
Power-Supply: 750Watt
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD4670
Hard Drive: Add: 1TB.
This hard for me to decide becaus if I upgrade this old dinosaure I know Its a waste of money but I dont have the money to buy a Quad core yet.
Wha should I do with that?

You got 2 options really.
1) Wait a year and get a hex core (it'll be much more mainstream then, but you can grab a quad core if you're on a budget).
2) Build a quad core computer now (or you can get a hex core, but AMDs Phenom II X6 isn't that great for gaming at the moment if that's what you're getting a computer for).
Your computer really isn't worth upgrading anymore.

Build my own computer will cost me about 1200$ without the OS and all accessories.
As I said I only have a summer job of 10-20 hours a week.
I have to pass my driving license this years wich is 400$-600$.
Six Core is good but I already have seen a 8 Core computer.
I have a little budget yet because I am woking in the weekend only.
So I should wait to build a Quad or Six Core.
Well I will care of your comment and wait till I get a job of 40 hours a week.
This actual computer will move to a room in my home and will be a futur Lan server.

Hey bro, the average computer in America are still dual core era, people would think you are mad running a hex core already.
a $1200 computer is already top of line, who the fuck pays full price for a OS these days when there are already free OS ( LINUX/GNU), and just re-use accessories for all you care, hard drives, dvd drive, card reader, mouse, keyboard, wireless card, etc

I have an old computer 32Bit Supported and I need all the accessorie for this computer both computer will run and be used.
Use Linux for a gaming PC are you serious?
This is a suicide just to think about all the crap you have to instal on Ubuntu to run a window aplication game.
I prefer to pay for a License then crack a damn bugged window version.
I live in Canada 1200$ is the minimum for a decent computer without screen and all other accessories in the Quad Core.

Hey bro, because Window 7 is fucking $100 everyfucking where right?
just go dig up some old keyboard or something.
a $1200 build ( $1100 aprox without the GST or whatever) can do great. even is quad-core base, unless your retailer is a piece of shit.

Hum Seven Ultimate 64Bit here cost 299$ CAD.
Motherboard watercooled cost about 250$.
Processor Quad Core about 165$.
Power Supply 850Watt about 125$.
Video Card 2GB of ram is about 250$ minimum.
RAM bars of 4 GB is about 150$ each a minimum of 8GB I whant.
Hard drive of 1TB 150$.
CD burner/player 50$ each.
Total cost: 1 590$ CAD.
Yes the parts are Expensive here and I pay only the half of their price in store.
A video card like I whant is about 550$ in store and I can get it at 250$ in the box with a warranty like in the store.

ironically, almost everything you mentioned cost more than the quad core itself.
K, have fun with that build, is just plainly money wasting as the Asian Ricer Guy.

You have to learn how to work on a budget. For one, you don't need watercooled anything. Secondly, you don't need a 850W PSU, just get the corsair 650TX, which is like $80. Additionally, you don't need a 295/480/5970 or whatever you were planning on getting for a GPU, just get a 5770/5850/5870. And if you're gaming, you don't need 8GB RAM, that much only goes to use if you're rendering shit in 3D. A TB HDD is not $150, and CD drives are not anywhere near $50, especially not separate burner/player. If you want to exaggerate prices to throw your total build cost up, be my guest, but you should really just build a whole new computer.
If you're working 20hrs/wk, and you make $10/hr, then you're earning $200/wk. Save up for two weeks, add that to your current $300, and you're fucking golden.

Why the fuck would you buy a 2GB Video Card
I dont think you have a 30+ inch screen
Watercooled? Seriously ? I doubt your going to overclock
DVD Burner is not fricken $50 in Canada, I know I live here
Heck go to newegg.CA
you will be shocked to see the low prices
And there are other ways to get Windows 7 for free, and no not buggy

if ram prices weren't retarded at the moment, i would definitely urge anyone upgrading to get 8gb.
