Eww seagate. I've never personally owned one, but I'm not sure if I've ever read a single positive review on newegg on them (maybe like 3-4). They are generally along the lines of: "It broke after a week." I mean, if they are much cheaper/available than Hitachi/WD in NZ then I guess go for it, but try to stay away from it if possible. Why do you think they are cheaper than the other ones?

I'm a computer technician.
I can get long warranties on Seagate.
Western Digital, is the most failed drive that have come into the shop.
Followed by IBM/Hitachi.

How much warranty do you get on the Seagate, here is 5 years standard.
Retail WD: 1 year (must purchase for additional)
OEM: 3 years/ 5 years on Black/Veloci(raptors)
start from manufacture date: will update if you email your receipt on date of purchase
Get at least DDR3 1600

The Core i7 980x is rated at DDR3 1066, but must we follow everything Intel says? If Intel says users must put their penis into a activated bug zapper before installing a CPU, are you actually going to do it?
DDR3 1600 brings more headroom, if your planning to overclock the hell out of your CPU and also brings higher bandwidth with reduce latency

In the new 6 cores, yes, but the 900 series quads can indeed do 1600 ram.

The only problem is some (mostly old chipset, 785 and below, nvidia chipset) mobo have problem supporting it, with a shitty bios, it would cause a few problem
