I like notepad++ for quick opening and the ftp plugin that uploads your stuff after you save it. I think it's great. |
I thought all text editors did this, provided you edit them directly from the ftp.
Perhaps it was just editplus3. :|

Cute. Did I strike a nerve?
Anyways, I feel I should qualify that comment before I get more teen angst directed at me: The statement was directed at people who insist on handling (not just viewing and small corrections) projects that span >10klocs in a text editor because they absolutely will not use an IDE. Yes, people like that exist.

Anyways, I feel I should clarify that I organise code, and I never make files that are over 400 lines of code each. So a 'text editor' sounds just fine.

The people you are 'directing your statement' at do not really constitute a majority population of Notepad++ users in this forum, though. Before you gave your explanation, it was easy to misread the intention of your post though. As it is, we seem to be of a common opinion. In all honesty though, I think you'd have trouble finding even 5 members of this forum with projects spanning >10klocs...

The simple fact that you would bother to call an offhanded comment based on my opinion a logical fallacy is hilarious. Not only did you ignore the fact that it is meant purely as an insult, you had the gal to post an article relating to logical fallacies without specifying which fallacy you think I committed, this has the ironic effect of your post being nothing more than a red herring.

As I said. If you're set on programming in Notepad++ then continue to do so. It isn't like I'll ever have to work with you, nor hire you. Though I strongly suspect the reason you don't have more than 400 loc in a file is because you've never written a program that long.

Yes, this is true. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.
