I think 'The Grudge' is pretty creepy.
Same goes for 'The Strangers'.

'The Grudge' is interesting, but not scary at all.
Same thing applies to The Fourth Kind.
I saw The Ring when I was younger, it scared the crap out of me.

I am only 11 years old and I watched "The Orphan" 3 times in a row in the middle of the night.
I am scare-proof or something like that.

It all depends on your mood and the immersion (the lighting in the room and the quality of the sounds, your level of attention).
"The Others" is not a very scary movie, but I almost crapped my pants when I heard someone running on the floor above from one corner to the other (the effect requires good speakers and DTS).

it's pretty eerie, though i watched it in pitch black at like 3 in the morning.

i find it hard to get immersed in horror movies, it's easier with games.
