They don't do much to fuel the imagination, but they do utilize it. Whereas seeing and hearing sites and sounds broaden imagination. |
Perhaps it's just how you think, but when I read a book, I imagine what's happening basically like it's a movie, for all intents and purposes, I am seeing it, for example, the book I'm reading now has a battle scene where the main character pulls out this huge ass flame sword and creates a fucking humongous beam of fire and fucks up all these orc things. I usually end up thinking of how stuff would happen in a book so I re-imagine it several times and I 'see' it several different ways. A movie however, only allows you see something one way, and music I approve of so no argument there, but yeah. |

Though a lot of what you see is from my drawing skills, my imagination was what leads to the final product. And my imagination certainly doesn't come from reading books... |
