port forward, but that requires you to setup a static IP.
Otherwise, there really are no "tricks" to speed up torrents. Your speed depends on how many seeders, so the less seeders the slower the download speed.
Also, if anyone tells you to limit your upload speed so your download goes up, don't listen to them because the more you upload, the more you're giving to other seeders, which in turn helps you, in a way.

They do. Go into the settings, and there is some link to check if the port is opened and forwarding. |
Sometimes I wonder if you actually know anything about computers at all. |

uTorrent/Bittorrent don't automatically port forward.
They have a port check, and they can recommend ports, but they don't open them for you. | I know.
Why do you people always think I'm serious in randomspam. You guys are so silly.

See, i beat all of you. :]
Go into cheatengine and find the uTorrent proccess.
Enable speed hack, and put the value as 0.1
Click apply and watch as your speed sky rockets threw the roof. :]
I've done this, got me from 200kb/s to a whopping 8.2 MB/s[/b]

You said something that was completely incorrect, but what you were TRYING to say is partially correct. For some people, most of their ports will already be open for use by bittorrent protocol, so forwarding them won't always even make a difference. This doesn't mean that they're already forwarded, or that utorrent opened them for you.

Not limit, allocation, though limiting can help too.

Not limit, allocation, though limiting can help too. | That only does anything when you're downloading/uploading other torrents at the same time. If you are downloading 2 torrents, and you set torrent 1 to high and torrent 2 to low, then the one set to high is going to have priority over the other one. This doesn't do anything if you're only downloading one though.

Well assuming you seed like a good citizen, you'll have many torrents at once.

Well assuming you seed like a good citizen, you'll have many torrents at once. | By default, uTorrent prioritizes downloading over uploading anyway. There's a setting to change this, however.
