I actually made it in 3DsMax with particles to make that kind of fuzzy glow
then I edited some things on photoshop

Too dirty. An animated version where the particles all go in the middle shape then start glowing more intensely might be nice. Seeing that you can animate particles, maybe you can do that.

actually, I made the animation first and just picked a still from there to use it on the wallpaper

Nice effect, but there are easier methods to make it. Good particle work though (what's the particle count?).
