Hello.

Is it possible to use ajax and phpto asynchronously download a file and md5 checksum to check whenever the download failed?

I want to delete the file once a download has completed.

Ofc I could have a flag in the db or change read access in htaccess but if I want to delete the shit?

Edited

You can use md5 to create a checksum. This sum can be used to check whenever the downloaded file really is not corrupted. You really didn't get that?

md5 isnt a checksum though its just a cipher.

a checksum is something like Cyclic redundancy check

and faster checksum is the fletcher/adler

"MD5 is a one-way hash algorithm as defined by RFC1321 and can be used to help determine the integrity of a file by providing a 128 bit digital signature. This digital signature is like a fingerprint for a file; changing just one single byte in a file will result in a different MD5 hash." //www.electrictoolbox.com

Suck on that bitch.. I've used it in winforms and it works..

Since we're planting wikipages, here's one for you, smart-ass: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Checksum

And it would require multiple forks or threads, Cryoma.

Hi holland.
At the bottom of the link you posted

Code:
md5, a Unix command that generates an MD5 sum (commonly used to verify .iso files)

Why are you all speaking against me Sad
