When I click Start > Turn Off Computer > Shutdown, it closes every program but just sits idle.. Anyone know how to fix this? And yes, I did google, but none of those are with cases of error messages, and I get none.

Because that's a very bad way to shut down your computer and should really only be used if your computer freezes.

A program might be hindering the shutdown process. What was the last program you installed (and the last one that has a process running pretty much all the time).

Try to download Autoruns and Process Explorer from the following links. See if there's anything unusual BELOW Explorer.exe on Process Explorer, and if there's anything unusual on Autoruns. Better yet, download Hijackthis and post logs here. On Process Explorer there's nothing unusual..
and I don't know how to use that Autoruns program..
