Well, lately I have been thinking what car I should buy first when I get my license. (No, I'm not a spoiled kid getting a $15k car from my parents, gotta get all myselves.)
Any other people have been thinking about this too?
I was thinking about these cars for example, looked them up too and aren't actually that expensive overall.

They aren't too expensive? Lol. Those cars are modified, probably enough so that they're all thousands over the stock price - and you do know that without a degree.. you'd be paying on a car like that for years? I'd suggest you get yourself a reliable used car (have a mechanic check it out for any obvious problems so you don't waste your money) _________________

You're almost guaranteed to crash your first car within 6 month of getting your license. Your first car should be a cheap beater car until you get the hang of things. Buying a newer car is absolutely idiotic because it will be wrapped around a tree long before it's paid off.
I tried telling this to one of my friends, like an idiot she went and bought a new car off the lot, ended up totaling it out within ~ 4 months.
If you can find one of the 5th gen Celicas (90-93) they are very fun and reliable cars, and they can usually be found for about $1500 on craigslist. |

| Even IF those cars aren't that expensive insurance will be through the ROOF! I was thinking about getting a '78 corvette for my first car the car itself was only 4,500. BUT INSURANCE WAS an estimated 100+ dollars a MONTH! Stick with something reliable, not flashy. |

I never crashed my first car. I still have it. And, it's a muscle car of all things.
So you can't really say he's going to crash his car either.
PS...
I did crash my pickup though, a year after my lincense. heh!
Also, a tip for insurance. You should ask a parent if they can keep it in their name and let you pay them. It will make a major difference. _________________

Yes, and it's still not entirely legal like that either. My mom and I both had to have active insurance on my subaru since we were both driving it. _________________

Just don't get a brand new car till you're confident of your driving skills. _________________
