|
|
My computer doesn't recognize my cd/dvd drive. My Computer hangs at the bios screen if the data and power ports for the drive are plugged in. I bought a new drive, same story.
Tl;DR:
Dvd/rw plugged in: Computer hangs at startup.
IF I get past startup, computer doesn't recognize the drive.
What do I need to do to fix this?
MY computer has had startup issues from Day 1. Disconnecting the dvd drive seemed to fix it all.
Thanks,
~Zaw

Call the manufacturer of the DVD drive. if they still can't help, RMA.

isn't it rather obvious that it isn't the drive? he said he bought a new one and it has the same problem. read the thread next time.

SATA. Could it be a software issue?

Eh, you said BIOS freaks out with it plugged in...
I say flash the BIOS to a newer version and try again. If it's a new build, maybe you could RMA the board. Then again, there's always this.
