Can you guys make me a build recommendation that has 1.2TB HDD and 8GB ram. It should be able to run 3ds max and maya smoothly and maybe some games with high specs.
The price should be reasonable though.
I made a build it was like $4'828 and was like woah.

=/ I'm a complete noob at building so yeah.
I'm not gonna buy this just yet. I'm still gonna compare it to others.

-Post specs and price please

If you have other laptop recommendations then please do tell. I want the laptop to have high specs and should still be efficient even after 5 years of not changing laptops.

No flames, I hope.

Use this: http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&oc=dkcwbn1&s=dhs

GOD DAMN, laptops are NOT MEANT TO DO ENTENSIVE WORK. IT'S A NOTEBOOK, NOT A BRICKBOOK. Please get a laptop (500 dollars, a g550 series) and a 650 dollar desktop. You will not regret it.

:< But I need one for extensive work because I can't be bringing a desktop everywhere. You sure there aren't builds for it?
and I'll take that laptop into consideration.

a laptop with your needed specs has a battery like of 30 mins to 1 hour. Thats not a god damn notebook. Please your laptop needs the same damn parts that you use in a desktop in a small box also called a notebook. They are just smaller, hotter, power hungry, desktop hardware. Use a desktop to render and then just use a remote desktop viewer to then upload the finished product.

30 mins without doing anything? or 30 mins with programs on? D:
Also does that mean that the average alienware with max specs would have that much battery life too?
Desktop to render huh? thanks for the tip.

Last part; he means buy a desktop to do the 3d work on then use a remote desktop app (logmein, teamviewer, etc) to upload your work.. or hell, you could even work on it over remote desktop assuming your connection doesn't suck donkey balls.

Well, here's the thing. I'm gonna need a powerful laptop because I'm gonna be out of the house 5 days a week and won't have access to the desktop.

@SF -
I'm going to expect internet that sucks donkey balls because of the country I live in.

Still no recommendations for a powerful yet still convenient laptop?

edit:

After a bit of researching, I'm considering the Sager 9262. Any opinions?

How about the monitor? It would also be weird for me to use something like that in the middle of class. (Computer based course)

Well you guys can scratch the games with high spec.
It's just really important for it to be able to run 3d modeling programs smoothly and should last me for 3-5 years.

Alternatively, sites like ibuypower and cyberpowerpc (one stocks better parts, can't remember which) sell i7 laptop builds from about 1500 USD. Not sure about battery life there, but it's not a bad deal.

Looks like the kind of laptop that I'm looking for. Are there any others that are in par or better in terms of performance to this?
