i haven't built a computer before and pretty much suck with deciding on what to buy with the craploads of different brands so can someone give me a hand? :B

i'm trying to make my budget around about Australian$700-800. i want to build something decent that can play games like COD MW2 without problems, and have plenty of power for other things i like to do. i hate having a piece of shit computer that wants to commit suicide all the time. i need the parts to be selected from MSY: http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf

i don't need things like a monitor, keyboard/mouse, speakers, OS, to be included in the budget.

at the moment this is something i put together:

CPU: i5-750 – $229
MB: Gigabyte P55-UD3 – $128
RAM: 4G Kit DDR3 1333 G.Skill-Ripjaws – $125
HDD: Seagate Sata 500GB – $59
GPU: HIS 5770 - $189
DVD: Sony-NEC Optiarc - $39
CASE: Thermaltake V3 - $77
$855

i'm not sure as to what PSU i should get, and the case will end up depending on how much is left over. these are a couple of cases i found with ~450W PSU's inside.
- Thermaltake VX - $139
- Thermaltake V9 - $110
- Thermaltake V3 - $77

i haven't really paid attention to CPU's and mobo's for a while so if there's totally different one's you'd recommend for a few dollars more or less please tell me. i'd rather go under budget than over budget, and have an ugly case if it means a better monitor.

seasonic psu, don't buy crappy ones

i might eventually change the PSU down the track. the one with the thermaltake case doesn't look too bad, does it?

Thermaltake is one of the very few companies whose case PSUs generally won't randomly explode. 14 and 15A on the 2 12 volt rails should be enough to power that build, but just barely. I'd certainly look into getting a more powerful PSU at some point in the future if you decode to go that way.
