I heard a story of a guy who hacked a multiplayer Tetris game, which allowed him to win every time.

So I was playing a game called 5 in a row ( Gomoku)

Then I realized...is it possible?

Being able to win instantly.

Any thoughts on how it would work?

Don't expect too much with online games. The answer is most probably no. Server-sided variables...

Online games are usually client sided, and probably won't work.
