You can probably find a better monitor. I'd go with Hanns-g.

so, I am undecided on the monitor.
I currently have a 16 inch 1280x1024 crt and I like the pixel density.
will a 23 or 24 inch 1080p/1200p monitor have the pixel density that im looking for or will the 1152p samsung be my best bet?

I don't think anyone needs such big cases :-/

My friend got one HUGE ASS CASE, it was see-thru and shit, so bad ass, right.

Anyway he bought a 300 dollar video card and i7 core w/e its called, apparently one screw was slightly loss, burned out his mobo.cpu, gfx card. From then on, i have tried to avoid big cases

that was more of a manufacturing fault or his fault. That most acrylic cases are put together by the consumer then it would be your friend's fault.

Just because your friend has a unfortunate event with his parts, it does not mean you have to avoid large cases like the plague. It's his own problem for not double checking to make sure everything is tight before he installed his parts.
The advantage with large cases is you can insert long length video cards while still have plenty of hand room to work with thus it does not fell cramped. And you won't have to worry if a video card will fit in my case or not.
By large cases it does not mean it's got to a full tower, it can be mid-size, but its length is long to support the E-ATX motherboard specs.

Now the CM Cosmos RC-1000 is a huge case!

Yes. (assuming you mean the mobo in the wish list) - yellow thing on side with "PATA IDE" next to it.
