A 1.6GHz Athlon (not even Athlon II) processor is very, very, VERY old. I refuse to believe the many functions of Windows 7 run smoothly on that processor. I would really recommend getting a better processor. You can get a much better processor than that for about $10-$15. Seriously, I wouldn't pay 75 cents for that processor of yours. However, that still blows away the minimum AND recommended requirements of MoopleStory, which are, by the way:
| Code: | [Minimum Requirements]
CPU: Celeron 500MHz
RAM: 64MB
HDD: 300MB Disk Space
OS: MS Windows 98/ME/2K/XP
VGA: 3D Acceleration Card
SOUND: None
NETWORK: 56kbps Modem
[Recommended Settings]
CPU: P3-700MHz or higher
RAM: 128MB RAM
HDD: 500MB Disk Space
OS: MS Windows 98/ME/2K/XP
VGA: 3D Acceleration Card
SOUND: 16bit Sound Card
NETWORK: Cable Modem |
You may notice that Vista and W7 aren't included in the OS list. I think they may not fully support it (as SF said). Since it is such a low requirement game, I would try running it in compatibility with XP SP3. |
although that's true, you might want to recheck where you got those system requirements for Mooplestory. It says 500 MB of free space, yet the installer is 1 gig and the whole folder takes up 3 gigs |

protip: that minimum requirements has been outdated, mooplestory is a CPU rape for any low end lappy, saying your desktop can run it fine one year ago isn't enough, moople changed shitload

Get a new computer
And, with your specs, i would install WinXP right away -.-
Converning the M@apleStory specs, MS takes up more than 2gb on my computer -.- the req's say 300mb, bit of a difference , almost x10, luckily its not the same for the CPU, GPU and RAM -.- |

The requirements for it are ages old, i doubt it would run on a 500 mhz processor
Also because of the new HackShield, you can't run it in compatibility mode anymore. |

Just because the name says Athlon does not mean it's a very old cpu, as a matter of fact the cpu Salt has is quite new.
The AMD Athlon TF-20 is a low TDP, oem based processor used mainly in very low cost notebooks and netbooks where it's most likely compete with netbooks running the Nvidia ION platform.
And since the AMD Athlon TF-20 is equipped with a HD3200 graphics, watching HD content, HD flash*, or encoding isn't going to tax on the CPU that much since the GPU will be handling most of the work.
As for the name, CPU-Z may need to be update as the real name of that cpu is a AMD Athlon Neo.
Also if your a fat cat purchasing in 1,000 tray units may cost you $10-15 a pop, but if your going to buy just one of these. It will cost you a arm and a leg.
*Adobe flash 10.1 uses the GPU for playing HD flash content. Currenly it's in beta and it's also available for download at Adobe labs to any that's curious on trying it out. |

weee, finally , can't wait for the official version to be released , this will mean that YouTube HD vids will use my GPU instead of my CPU? (or, mainly), in that case my Stationary will finally be able to play HD YouTube content |

Not all GPU will support accelerated flash. Tried it on my netbook with the Nvidia ION and watching YouTube HD, the cpu was at 100%, with 10.1 the same clip uses around 70%. |
