All screen listed on this thread are LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) no matter what type of panel or backlight they use.

I went to this restaurant and they got a Panasonic IPS HDTV and it looks really nice. And the pic is still clear if you view it from the side.

With a 14ms average BTB response time on both of the IPS monitors you originally suggested, you will undoubtedly experience ghosting at 60Hz.

UltraSharp 2290WA. Res is lower than the other two (1680 x 1050) but it has an E-IPS panel with a 6ms response time.

TN panels are fast, but typically employ dithering as they don't have the full 8 bit color depth. really though, the effect is so good now you would sometimes be hard pressed to tell the difference.

if you want anything to do with very fast motion, chances are you'll be ending up with a TN panel atm.

From what I know, at 60Hz, your screen refreshes every 16.67ms (1/60), so you technically only need a 16ms max BTB pixel response time to avoid ghosting.
