oh shit, you can make a nice computer for 600 dollars if you have a monitor to recycle, a good monitor will run you 140 dollars

2gb ram
geforce 9800GT or better
decent size monitor (16 inc or better)
cpu needs to be talked about but I want a dual 2.0ghz+, and I dont give a fuck if its an amd core.
Ill get a cheap keyboard, and I have a usb laser mouse already. The case doesnt have to be that great, and the mobo must be decided with the cpu.

This is my rig. Processor is actually an AMD athlon 64.
I know my computer isn't amazing, but it runs everything lag-less so far.
I've played spore, garrysmod (which pretty much covers the entire source engine), world of goo, Warcraft III TFT, on highest settings all without lag.
It's an e-machines i got at Wal-mart if you're interested. I forgot the name, so you might want to go look it up.
It's a desktop for only $315.00 USD.

You have to be joking me.
First of all, the screenshots you showed of Spore a week ago had to have been the lowest possible quality.
Second of all, Garrysmod does not cover the entire source engine. Just because you can import models and textures from other games does not mean it can be used as a benchmark for them. Running Left 4 Dead 2 on full settings makes GarrysMod look like Half-Life 1.
