You can, and I have many times, played 2v2 on a friend of mine's Wii.
Edit to clarify:
Wii 1 - Me + Friend
Wii 2 - Friend
Wii 3 - Friend

What game? I have had a wii for 3 years, with many many games, and none have let 2 people play wifi at once from the same console.

I googled the question to backup my statement, and here's what I've found.
In order to do this, you must have your opponent's Friend codes.
You cannot have multiple people on the same Wii and play against random people online, but you can do it against friends.
This is why I was able to do it with my friends, and you are not able to.

ok, that works. I thought you meant random. Usually it doesnt work though.
