So if the demoman wins, then demoman gets a new gun, and soldier vice versa?
But not both?
Lame.
Anyway, soldier should win since the demo already has 2 guns, and soldier has 1.
(shotgun doesn't count)

most kills means winner, currently the soldier is winning with 1.29m vs 1.39m

I would hardly call it OP. If you can aim, it does good damage.
Medium range to finish off targets is always nice, but you're not going to get any more than ~30 damage off a shot, and if you haven't hurt them enough with your rockets they're going to escape.
Close range, it does as well as to be expected of a shotgun, doing ~90 damage. Can't say that's good compared to ~112 of the rockets, but if you run out of rockets there's always a decent alternative.
Also to the people who say "Demoman already has 2 primaries lawl" he does not. Stickies are really the primary, and the grenade launcher is slightly less powerful. After a bounce off a wall or any other non-direct hit, it does ~70 damage, which can be trumped by a shotgun at the range you'd be using a grenade launcher.

| Soldiers need more of a ranged weapon, that slow-traveling rocket isn't going to do much good.

He means it's not soldier exclusive, like all of the demomengs weapons.
