Not necessarily the earbuds, but occasionally, I buy "bass-boosting" earbuds because I occasionally listen to trance and other songs that specialize in bass. About 2 weeks - 3 months (depending on quality), the earbuds start to buzz whenever there's too much bass in the song.
Any explanations?
And how to prevent this from happening?
Because from Jan 2009 - Today, I've spent over.. $300 on earbuds alone?

Turn down the volume or something... I should not happen if you dont "max" them. And i heard something about some unit's have a higher voltage than other's, but im not sure.

You need better amplification for your headphones. If you aren't using outboard amplification, there's your problem.

You said they're "bass boosting", that means that at whatever frequency they're boosting, even if it's only by +3dB, you're using twice as much power in that frequency band.

Your media device can't put out enough current, causing it to clip, and frying your earbuds.

The wiring is fucked up, you need new headphones.
