Google Chrome OS is an open source LINUX operating system by Google to work exclusively with web applications.[3] Announced on July 7, 2009, Chrome OS is set to have a publicly available stable release during the second half of 2010.[4] The operating system is based on Linux and targets specifically designed hardware.[5] The user interface takes a minimalist approach, resembling that of the Chrome web browser. Because the browser will be the only application residing on the device, Google Chrome OS is aimed at users who spend most of their computer time on the Internet.[6][7][8]
It's designed for netbooks anyways, so I don't blame them.
But they couldn't have picked a worse time to do something like this. nVidia's ION processors are seriously stepping up netbooks so that they can do so much more than surfing the web and those aren't even that expensive.
But I'm kind of interested in what they mean by all your things are stored on the internet. Does that mean that they expect us to just use Google Docs and shit all the time or something?
has potential.

You don't need an SSD drive to use an ION netbook.
Nor do you need a good internet connection. Besides, you can practically go anywhere and there will be a good WiFi connection.
And I'm just saying, how will they store all our games and stuff on the internet, unless they don't plan on doing that and the 'games' that they are talking about are browser flash games.

Does not exist in the sense you think. Basic applications provided. I do not even think they allow you to install any other applications, and if they do, those do run on your computer. _________________

Hmm. Interesting. Well since it's open source, I'm looking forward to seeing what direction it takes, and how it will compete with Linux/Windows/Mac.
@Shota - I don't even know what you're talking about anymore.
It wont compete with Linux, since its based on Linux. Not sure what distribution though. Might just take a pure vanilla Linux kernel and build on it. _________________
