Dear god what have you done! (no pun intended)
Another religious thread?...This will go on forever.
God is either completely fictional or terribly misinterpreted.
Fictional - Many believe in a god because that is the way they are brought up, but alongside this is the fact that they do not want ot comprehend what science has discovered nor can they understand it and so result in turning to some magical being who created everything and all those scientists are mad as fuck. That said, Ned Flanders is a pretty cool guy.
Misinterpreted - Im open to believe there is some kind of superpower out there. I mean we are most surely not alone in the universe, the odds are massive for life elsewhere. So maybe, a species with technology and physical advancement long long alogn the evolutionary line came to earth long ago (would explain all the pyramids and lines etc all the alein crap), to either aid us and set us along the right path, or seeded our life by several methods (i.e, bringing water to earth since we dont now how it got here int he first place, or even actually kicking off our evoloution from primal underwater beasts).
In any case, i believe there is not some magical being who created this entire planet in 7 days or all the other fictional bullshit the shat inti the bible to keep people from exploiting science for hundreds of years, but in actual fact, there is a much more advanced form of life than our own either directing us along the path that we need to follow or just anally probing us and laughing, but eh we might actually not have encountered any aliens, and just be on our own with a shit load of scientific discoveries waiting to happen so we can get of this doomed rock and spread amongst the stars. |

I find anything that reduces stress, anxiety, and depression to be a big plus.
I also enjoy how Religions give people more hope in their life. As someone who's interested in the mental wellbeing of others, i support the adoption of religions into your personal beliefs. I don't hold any religious beliefs, but i am not against the idea. I truly do support religion for what it does to our health.
Also, everything you've mentioned can be found in the lives of those who don't follow a religion. Don't cram it all into one side. |

-By nature, we hate things that are different from us. Even in the wild, animals will stick to their own kind. Even animals of the same species fight with each other if they intrude territory. We are inclined to think we are the best.
2) Regulation of Social Practice:
-Older than jesus. If you don't fit with your kind, then get out. Every society sets their beliefs and practices. All of it's followers are expected to follow them to ensure peace and order.
3) Wars:
-Shit happens. Strife will always be present. Religion is a good excuse, but that wont stop me from building a fence around your pool and call it mine.
You accused Religions of being responsible for these things, but if you look back and reread it, everything on that list can be blamed on governments. |

I said what their holy texts say, and it is true, the religions of the world have caused these things. There is no denying that religion has caused very severe problems for the world. Another example being Nazi Germany. You could also say atheism somehow caused a problem by Joseph Stalin, but you're missing something here: Stalin didn't use a doctrine to justify his actions. |
