sure, i don't see why something else can't exist. it doesn't really have to be intelligent life, but it is certainly plausible for something else to be alive.
the universe being potentially infinite is mind blowing enough if you dwell on it.

It's called time.
Anyway, i forget the equation, but some dude made an equation to figure out the chance of extraterritorial life... The percentage was SMALL, but it was a percentage.
Meaning there is a possibility, just not probable.

| I believe that the chance exists, but not as of yet. Perhaps a long time from now there will be other life forms somewhere in the universe, only time will tell.

| We can simply answer the question by saying, "we don't know." Yes we can see what is on Mars, but the galaxy stretches far from that. There could be life, but do we have the power to get there within our life span? I'm not so sure.

I don't think so.
It is a miracle we happen to exist anyway. Supermassive explosion, and out of the rubble out little planet Earth just happens to get into the perfect orbit around the perfect star. To begin with, out of every single solitary planet we have EVER found, not A SINGLE ONE has been Earth-like. They have all been other giant balls of gas like Jupiter and Saturn.
Secondly, even if it did happen to be Earth-like, it would have to be in the perfect orbit (not too eccentric), and have the perfect distance from the perfectly-sized star, which excludes any binary star systems.
Thirdly, even if we were to find an Earth-planet, the chance of it having ANY life at all are extremely minimal, without even going into intelligent life.
Like seriously, I'm appalled it even happened once.
Also, I like how I'm the only one that voted no.

| There's such an overwhelming number of planets in the universe, quite a few are bound to have come upon the life-friendly conditions our planet has.

That's like saying if there is an infinite loop of numbers, one of the number has to be 1.
Which is incorrect, just like your statement.
If there is an never ending string of numbers (the universe) it is possible for one of them to be 1 (intelligent aliens).
But we are not 100 percent sure.

But we are not 100 percent sure. | And, in essence, the universe isn't exactly infinite. Sure, there may be no end or beginning, or edges or sides, but the debris ends somewhere (debris being particles remaining from the explosion, assuming we're suspending all doubt about the Big Bang/Primeval Atom theory). We just use the word infinite because the number is just so incredibly large that we can't even make an estimate.
