you're talking about the fan right..?
you could pull the ps3 apart and take the fan out and clean the fan while it's off -.-? and put it back together once you cleaned the fan -.-?

If they say not do, don't.
You shouldn't worry about your PS3 overheating anyway, as they rarely do. And even if it does get close to overheating, it'll automatically shut itself off before anything gets fried.

PS3 doesn't auto-shut down if its overheating.

hey too bad it does though. My brother played MGS4 all day and *luckily he had saved* all of a sudden his PS3 shut off. And it was really hot. So yea.
