It's just amazing.
It has the looks and convenience vista has, and with the compatability and productivity XP has (Actually improved, Paint is useful this time.)
Then again, i've only had windows 7 for like the past 4 hours :/ _________________

It makes mediocre use of opacity to somehow present an aesthetically pleasing appearance without respect to proper GUI design geometry and theory.
Case in point: It uses about the same interface as previous Windows operating systems (if this is for user convenience or simply that they are out of ideas is up for debate). What gives it any appeal at all is the fact that the task bar is now opaque, you can see window previews in real time (a nice but not critical function) and that now program instances stack into one general icon on the task bar.

I just read 7 reasons to switch to Windows 7, five of them were about its appearances. It adds nothing new or amazing beyond its graphical interfaces and some extended hardware support. The only REAL thing I enjoyed about Windows 7, Microsoft got off its ass and finally corrected the horrendous boot times.

If you don't like it, you can customize it in almost any way. What operating system do you have? _________________

Windows XP and Backtrack as a dual boot. Also, customization is nice, but I prefer an operating system that is done right to begin with. _________________

Uhh, It actually supports alot of my shit thatnever worked when i had windows xp.
Even though windows seven has slight improved capabilities and software it comes with is actually up to date, it's more of an OS that an adolescent would have in their basement to play games on. _________________

It makes improvements to service and hardware discovery. But that is mostly just due to the fact Microsoft packed more third party drivers to their Windows 7 installs in order to provide more initial and on board support. _________________

What? |
It loads itself and other programs much quicker than XP and Vista did for me. Vista was just extremely slow when running multiple programs... So I'm assuming W7 has a fixed memory leak or something along the lines. _________________

Also, not to mention the Ribbon UI Paint and Wordpad, and the totally new calculator. _________________
