no, you don't know what you're talking about.
I've gotten it before, hallucinated every time so far.
Probably lasts no longer than 5-10 seconds in reality but it can feel pretty long at the time. Your eyes are open and for all purposes and intents, you're technically awake but your state of mind isn't really there. I wasn't coherent during it but I had a rough idea where I was and I could hazily see my surroundings. It's not like bam you're awake and seeing funky shit + can't move, you might have a rough idea of what is going on but it's usually blurred by dream logic.
It will happen more often if you sleep on your back; if you're familiar with psychology, you'll see it related to having a succubus sitting on your chest. Considering the likelyhood of seeing a distorted version of whatever it is, I'd say it's pretty easy to hallucinate something sitting on your chest.
During the actual paralysis part, I can usually only move / rock my head back and forth a little. It passes quickly enough but it's still scary as shit at the time for reasons already stated. It's not as fun as it sounds.

i get it sometimes, two times i couldn't move for a couple of minutes, and later i got them in less degrees of power, like 30 seconds or something.
you should be fine. you'll get scared and stuff, but you know it's sleep paralysis bothering you so it's a bit easier to get out of

| I remember having this when I was around 5 or 6 years old. Damn, that was scary. My eyes were open, my body was moving but I couldn't control it, I started panicking and crying and for some reason sat on the window thing and saw boxes of eggs flying around. That was the most awkward thing I ever saw in my life...
