Well you see, I'm trying to make my avatar the same color as the surrounding grayish color of an avatar.
But the fail is, the surrounding color changes slightly every post.
So on the first post, it'll look good, transparent and all that.
But on the second post, the avatar will be lighter than the gray of the post.
So my question is, can I make this transparent throughout every post?
Note that I edited it in MS paint.
Rep will be rewarded for an easy explanation on how I can do it, or if you do it for me.
Am I not easy to understand?
I want the gray part of my avatar to be transparent. _________________

If you have GIMP, or Photoshop or something, great. Use that.
If you don't, then you can download Paint.NET freeware from here: www.getpaint.net
Open up your selected image editing program, and find the tool called the 'Magic Wand'.
Click on the tool, and on a toolbar at the top of the program, a slidebox called 'Tolerancy' will appear. Play with that, and then using the tool, click on the area that you want to make transparent.
Press delete.
File > Save as... 'imagename.png' |

Get Photoshop, delete/erase the background, export as a PNG.

yo cat, I'm using paint net and selected the part I want, so I set the tolerance to a certain percentage and it makes it transparent?
Then I delete something?
See, this is the problem.
I select the gray part, and then I change the "tolerance", but nothing seems to change.
More info please.
And also, It selects some parts I dont want _________________

Just remake it. Put your avatar on a transparent background, paste in the warn icons and recolor them and what not.
Done. | sure thing
edit: fuck this thing is hard to do
how do I make a transparent background anyways?
edit: I c&p the warns but when I paste it just comes up as black rectangle the same size as a warn.
fuck this paint net thing
edit: nevermind, so how do i make transperant backgrounds?
edit: fuck this shit its too hard to do.
someone do it for me _________________

No, no. The Magic Wand tool works by selecting area around the pixel you selected, based upon color similarities.
The tolerance is how different the color can be in contrast to the selected pixel.
0 tolerance being only that exact color, and 100 tolerance being the whole canvas.
You click on the area AFTER you set the tolerance. If you end up selecting more than what you need, lower the tolerance. If you end up selecting not enough, then increase the tolerance.
Once you have the area you want to make transparent selected, press 'Delete', and then save the image. |
