Yes, you can use Windows Media Centre, or Vuze. If you have a heavy firewall then use Vuze because that's the only thing that worked on my old PC. But my new PC's Media Centre extender finally works...

It always fucked me over. For some people it works great, for others it's the biggest piece of shit ever.

| I actually have a question about this, I can't do any type of media sharing with my PS3 because whenever I try to connect or find my computer, the entire net drops. it also does this when I try to sign in. I have a WRT4G router. I'm wondering if anyone had this problem and has successfully fixed it.

On my Old PC I used Tversity, Vuze, Windows Media Player Sharing, Windows Media Centre. Out of all those the only one that worked perfectly was Vuze. Once I bought my new i7 Rig, The Media Centre worked perfectly for me. To be quite honest. Vuze is the biggest piece of shit when it comes to anything other then media sharing. It uses tonnes of memory and way to, well not complicated but has too many useless features. For torrenting i prefer µtorrent. For file sharing I prefer Windows Media Centre but if it doesn't work then use Vuze. Another annoying Feature about Vuze as you can't simply have a library of video's to share. You need to drag & drop the video to Vuze, and it convert's them in a Vuze folder, which there for takes more time, more space and needs some user interaction at some time. Also Vuze must remain on. With Media Centre, once you add the extender, and add the library you want, all you need to be open is the PC, you don't need Media Centre open or anything else.

Also, assign your PS3 a static IP and set it as the DMZ host in your router settings.
