I know how to do it, but need good mirror to 3.0 firmware and redsn0w 0.8. No bittorrent.

its a premade custom 3.1 firmwarwe, just restore it with that and it will already be jailbroken

I've used the second link on my 2g ipod touch. You just download it, go into itunes, put your ipod in DFU mode then shift click on restore button and find the custom .ipsw then restore to jailbroken firmware.

If I already jailbroke my ipod back when it was 2.2.1, (it's 3.0 now, jailbroke) and restore it with the cracked 3.1, will it mess anything up?

I have a problem, I pressed shift + Restore and selected the 2nd link that I downloaded and it gave me a:

The iPod could not restored because of ... error 1604

Now the only thing I can do is press Restore. :\ Was I supposed to put it into DFU mode before or something?

I JB'ed my iPhone 2g using the same method for tips go to www.xsellize.com best idevice site so far. Currently Geohot is about to release blackra1n which is a JB tool which JBs every iPhone ipt1 and ipt2 that will likely be released tomorrow on the same day appuloha1l will be released which is a 1 click jailbreak tool. Wait about 7 hours get some sleep and jailbreak. blackra1n will most likely have custom boot logos along with appuloha1l.

Here is how I did this for my iPhone 2G 3.1

If that didn't work you will need to put your device into DFU mode.
To enter DFU mode do the following.

Gratz your in DFU mode.
Now itunes will say your device is in restore mode.
Shift Click the restore button and you should be good to go after you select your custom ipsw.
