If I recall it was on average <20% slower than the 5870. Still beats the 285 in most games.

| If you still need a cd drive. They have nice ones for like 60 bucks at Bestbuy with light scribe.

FUCK those Samsung drives, holy shit.
Mine has been throwing device errors since day 1. I've burned about a million discs fine and it's never actually given me trouble, but it makes me a little weary, especially because I've heard of other trouble with it.
Mine is loud as shit too, it easily overpowers the entire computer and mine is loud.

My Memorex drive works fine; got it on sale for $25. Dual layer burning capability too, and it uses LG internals. Pretty darn fast (about 12 minutes to burn 16x DVD-5), no comment on audio. My slim LG laptop burner is pretty nice too, but I haven't actually burned anything yet.
This LG burner seems to have good reviews.
