which web browser uses the least RAM? i need it cause i have low RAM and i wanna keep it normal

as far as I know, lynx uses the least RAM

IE doesn't use much RAM. Stay away from Firefox, the plug-ins eat up RAM.

Maybe Opera, seems pretty lightweight to me based off looks

Chrome...usually around 10K-30K for me, whereas Firefox is around 200K-400K of RAM. Never used Opera so I can't say. Oh and PC I don't think he meant text-browsers Wink

Well, if you want to include it, Lynx by far. Pretty sure you can find a Win32 version, and I suppose there's Cygwin if that fails.

Of normal modern browsers Opera or Chrome. Although, a good rule of thumb to keep down RAM usage is only keeping one tab open at any time, in any browser.

With Chrome, each tab and plugin has it's own process.

1. Open 5 random sites in Firefox
2. Open the same 5 sites in Chrome
3. Add up all of Chrome's processes' RAM usage
4. Compare it to Firefox's

I tend to find Firefox using less RAM.
