So I am going to Japan in a few weeks for 3 weeks to live with a host family, is there anything I need to know? I know that it's respectful to take your shoes off at the door and to eat all the food they give you, also to slurp your noodles when you eat them.. Anything else I need to know? I don't wanna be ass raped and thrown into a random street in Japan.

Know the currency.
Wall sockets = two-pronged.
Cars drive on left side of road.
Some restaurants > no shoes.
Squat toilets common in public restrooms.
Only "usually" toilet paper/weird hand drying things.
Tipping doesn't exist.
Quote:
Diners in Japanese restaurants will be given small wet towels (often hot) with which to wash hands before ordering. Paper and cloth napkins are generally not provided. It is okay to use the wet towel for this purpose.
Chopsticks are the utensils used in Asia. However, a spoon will be provided with soups and broths. It is impolite to stick chopsticks into food when not in use; instead, ldiners should ay them across the bowl or plate.

full source.
Good luck on your trip.

Very much appriciated. Isn't the currency like

$10.00 = 100£ or something?

Edit: And what do you mean tripping does not exist? Lol I have an Asian friend and he says "You can't trip an Asian." And I always thought he was just fucking with me.

That's fairly close to the conversion rate, yeah. And it's tipping, like tipping a waitress.
No tipping for cab rides, at restaurants, anywhere it seems.

Ahaha, awesome, my domain here.
Yes, just like in France, there's no tipping.
Instead they charge a bit extra in the first place.
Hmm alright, don't try to speak Japanese if you don't know it, don't bow or anything dorky like that, just be American, they love that.
(Assuming you're American.)
Don't order what you won't eat, if you're skeptical about a type of fish then just keep away.
Yen are like pennies, just imagine that everything is paid in pennies and you'll be fine.
$100.00 = ¥10000 (Not really, but it's close)
It's like you take the dot out of the US price.

Practice your karaoke voice.

japan doesn't use Pounds, they use Yen.
It's a Y with two little sticks cutting through the middle horizontally.
¥ <- looks like that but with two stick thingys

also, (1 U.S. dollar = 91.016656 Japanese yen)

I know they use yen, I just couldn't find the proper keys to put it in the sentence. Also, why practice my karaoke voice?
