I don't care if it's payed version or not... but apparently my NOD32 allowed ask toolbar to install, I never get firewall warnings and the scan feature on it completely locks up the computer. Makes it a worthelss gaming anti virus.

Try Kaspersky or Avira.

1: Oh, they included that? I don't think so... but a lot of freeware and shareware software do package it.
2: Change firewall settings to interactive. Well, that's assuming you've got Smart Security and not just the anti-virus.
3: How so?

Kaspersky is pretty much as good as NOD32. Avira has high detection rates, but will over-react. McAfee and Norton are getting pretty good now, although they recieved a lot of bashing for some of their older versions. I'd still recommend Kaspersky or ESET over them.

Uninstall your antivirus as it is worthless. Get an external hard drive & install your OS on it. Keep your files on your C:\ drive while running your OS on a flash drive (not the hard drive). Then, bind the command to copy your OS from your hard drive to your flash drive to a hotkey that you won't easily press (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + F12, etc.), and use it like so. When you get a virus, press the hotkey, and guess what? System restored.

as said before, i would try changing your settings to interactive. and when something installs stuff including ask toolbar, i doubt any anti-virus would call it a virus. so.. yea ._.
