| and I don't have a credit card or any intention of giving apple any more money at the moment. It won't let me download lots of the apps because it says I need 3.0, which costs another $10. It won't let me install even the free apps without registering an account with them, and I can't register without a credit card. Is there any way around that, so I could at least get the free apps?

you can sign up without a credit card
3. fill out the form, for state/province and country
4. your account should be created now and you will recieve an email.
5. go to your iTunes click sign it.
6. sign in with the account details you created, it will say the account has not been used with itunes so click 'review account'
7. agree to the terms and click next
8. now fill out your address as your payment method and ignore the payment at the bottom and click next
9. you will now be signed into iTunes store

Getting your ipod jailbreaked has almost no risk of damage.
Everyone smart jailbreaks it.

I can't even seem to make a free account to install free a pps. I've got no experience with anything like this. I have no idea where to find a reliable tutori al.
Why would I even bother? Unless I can find someone who's willing to walk me through it, I'm just trying to get the fre e apps, and even THOSE won't work unle ss I give them a fucking credit ca rd num ber. <.<
EDIT: Also, in regards to trying to get the free fuckin' apps without a credit card, I created an account on the website, got the email, clicked the link to go log in, logged in, exited out, went on my ipod touch to download an app, and it said I didn't have authorization. WTF.

There's no way you can brick your iTouch unless you did something really really really stupid and if you decided to go with it and if you get a white screen after just let the battery die.

Well, then. I'll try it if you'd be kind enough to direct me to a good tutorial. (If you say 'google' I'm gonna fucking scream.)
Until then, I'm just trying to download ONE fucking app, and I can't do it without a credit card, or so it says. I don't HAVE a fucking credit card.

To sum it all up, I can't get apps without giving them a credit card, which I don't have. The official site's tutorial tells me to select an option that isn't there, google tells me to go to the official site, and you people here tell me to jailbreak it. None of that is what I'm trying to do right now.

I'm planning on somehow getting my hands on an iTouch, jailbreaking seems to be the thing right now, I will probably also have problems fairly similar to yours, in the mean time try searching youtube, google, etc, I'm sure you can find a good tut while no one is here to find you one.

I had my iPod touch jailbroken but un-jailbroke it cause I was having to free the memory cache every few minutes since it uses more with themes and plugins.

| Ah, I *finally* got it to work. I did the same thing but with a different email address for the 4th time and the 'none' button magically appeared.
