Actually, it's are* because the subject is seeds. If it were is* the sentence would not have proper subject-verb agreement. So you say: Seeds are... not Seeds is...

Just because things sound correct doesn't mean they are grammatically correct. For example: The Browns and (us/we) share the same garage. The correct answer is "we" even though "us" sounds correct. Learn your grammar rules first before you disagree.
