So my brother accidentally deleted hal.dll somehow while uninstalling programs on my moms computer. He restarted. We have pictures.

Its a system component that will either
A. BREAK YOUR PC FROM REMOVING

or

B. make your pc 50times faster from removing.

Its random on all pcs, but usually B is what happens.

And actually it wasn't hal.dll that was corrupted. It was boot.ini, and it just happens to cause the hal.dll message. But I put Windows 7 on it, so it's all good now.
