i never get WHY muslim's religion asks them to starve though.

The purpose, so far to my knowledge is to remind themselves of poverty and poor people.

However, poor people usually don't get to eat big feasts.

I'm greek orthodow, and we fast for 3 whole months. i don't know how long it is for muslim, but 3 months is long for not eating animal products @_@
